Tobius Potter

Tobius Potter is a seasoned vocalist with over 20 years of performance experience and a deep passion for helping others discover their voice. He began teaching voice in 2017 during his junior year of high school and has since dedicated himself to guiding students of all levels and backgrounds.

Tobius studied Vocal Education and Opera Performance at Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC), where he refined his craft and expanded his knowledge of vocal technique and pedagogy. With a strong foundation in opera and musical theatre, Tobius has also performed across a wide range of styles, including jazz, pop, rock, and more. He has been featured in numerous musical groups and solo recitals, showcasing his versatility and love for music.

As a teacher, Tobius believes that voice lessons should be both fun and educational. His core philosophy is that anyone can sing—it’s just a matter of finding their unique voice. Because no two voices are the same, he customizes every lesson to suit the individual needs and goals of his students. With a supportive and engaging approach, Tobius helps singers build confidence, technique, and a lifelong love for music.

Madilyne Potter

Madilyne is a professional pianist and vocalist with many years of experience across several genres of music. She has familiarity with classical, worship, jazz, ragtime, and pop music just to name a few. She began her formal training at the age of 7 in classical piano performance and became a professional accompanist and piano instructor at the age of 14, working with a variety of students of different ages and skill levels. Madilyne earned an associate’s degree in music at Grand Rapids Community College where she continued her study of classical piano and strengthened her skills and understanding of music theory, composition, and vocal performance. Madilyne’s teaching philosophy is that each student is unique, so she constructs each lesson to fit each individual learning style. She believes that music, above all else, should be fun! Therefore, she encourages students to share their preferences and request their favorite songs to learn and perform.
